Part 2: My son h.i.t me 30 times in front of his wife… so the next morning, while he sat in his office, I sold the house he thought was his.

He believed my company was already his in everything but paperwork.

My decades of work had become an inheritance he considered delayed by my continued existence.

Detective Mills said:

“We also found references to a medical evaluation.”

I looked up.

“What medical evaluation?”

Another document.

Appointment request.

A private neuropsychology practice.

Patient:

Gloria Sutter.

Requested by:

Trevor Sutter.

Reason:

Increasing confusion, unsafe financial decision-making, suspected cognitive decline.

My mouth went dry.

“I have never been there.”

“We know.”

“Did he take out an appointment?”

“It appears someone tried to arrange one.”

Daniel’s face was pale.

“If they could establish even a suggestion that you lacked capacity, the forged succession documents would become more useful.”

I almost laughed.

The sheer arrogance.

I still reviewed engineering reports for fun.

I knew every property Cedarline owned.

I could tell you which retaining wall on our north Houston project had been poured three inches off specification in 2007.
