I stared at him.
“My leg is broken.”
“I can see that.”
“Your mother pushed me.”
“You fell.”
“I have cameras.”
His face changed.
Barely.
But I saw it.
Then he smiled.
“You had cameras.”
My blood turned cold.
He had found them.
Or thought he had.
“You deleted the footage?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You turned off my phone.”
“You were unconscious.”
“You took my key.”
“Sloan, stop.”
The lawyer looked uncomfortable.
Flynn leaned closer.
“Don’t make this harder than it needs to be.”
I looked at the divorce papers.
Then at the estate transfer.
“What happens if I refuse?”
His voice softened.
That frightened me more than shouting would have.
“You’ve had excellent private medical coverage through Vale Holdings.”
“My insurance is through your company.”
“Yes.”
“You’d cancel it?”
“I’m saying situations change during divorce.”
I stared.
“You’re threatening me before surgery?”
